5 Minute Journaling - Journaling Made Easy
Need a simple, fast and easy journaling practice? Try out 5 Minute Journaling.
This is a simple practice that you can use to prioritise your days and to practise gratitude. It only takes 5 minutes in the morning and evening!
We all know journaling is good for us, but not many stick to this habit. Why is that?
Journaling can take too much time.
People also don't journal thanks to:
- Unsure what to write about
- No set time for journaling
- Overwhelmed by the different types of journaling methods
- No fixed journaling prompts
The 5 Minute Journal solves all of these problems, and I journal this way because of one reason, and one reason only: it sticks!
Here's you can practice 5 Minute Journaling, step by step:
Step 1: Decide your journaling medium of choice
By committing to one place, you get to easily refer back to your previous journal entries.
You can either write down the prompts by hand for every entry, use a pre-made 5 Minute Journal book, or use note-taking apps like Notion and Roam, where you can use templates to duplicate the prompts.
Step 2: Every morning, take 5 minutes to answer give 3 answers to these 3 prompts
- I am grateful for...
- What would make today great?
- Daily affirmations. I am...
Most people do the first prompt wrongly - they fill it in with obvious and common things, and they often repeat the same things every day.
To be more deliberate with your gratitude, consider these categories, and pick your 3 best answers:
- An old relationship that you value
- An opportunity you have today
- Something great that happened yesterday
- Something near you or within your side
Step 3: Before bed, take 5 minutes to answer give 3 answers to these 2 prompts
- 3 amazing things that happened today...
- How could I have made today better?
This allows you to celebrate your wins and reflect on your mistakes throughout the day.
If you need to practice more gratitude and prioritise, try out 5 Minute Journaling!
